Work Experience

2007 - : System Administrator, UNINETT Norid AS (the .no ccTLD registry)
2006 - 2007: Senior Engineer, IT department, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim. Administration of Unix servers. NTNU has 20,000 students and 3,000 employees. The IT department runs central email, web and file services, and has several hundred servers running Linux, Solaris and Windows.
1998 - 2000, 2004 - 2006: Parttime job at the IT department of NTNU. I did general system administration of Linux and Solaris servers. From August 2004 to August 2005 I was coordinator for the group responsible for 200 clients in student computer labs. My duties as coordinator were mainly administrative, but I also did some Windows 2000 and XP administration.
2000 - 2004: Consultant for Initio IT-løsninger AS. Initio was an independent company with 4 employees, delivering services in Linux, FreeBSD, web and email solutions. I was in charge of administration of Linux servers, including email and web servers.
1997 - 1998: Webmaster at NTNU. Fulltime temporary position for 5 months.
1996 - 1998: Misc. parttime and summerjobs at NTNU, doing user support, client installation (Linux and FreeBSD), administration of computer labs, training staff, webmaster.

Education

2004 - 2006: Cand. scient (eq. MSc) in Informatics. My thesis was about reasons for the low number of female open source software developers.
Spring 2001: Computer Systems - Design and Operations (7.5 credits), NTNU.

1996 - : Member of PVV system administration team. PVV is a student computer club with ca. 1,200 members, and provides Unix and network services to the members.

1996 - 1999 : Member of NVG system administration team. NVG is a student computer club at NTNU, with about 1000 members.

Open Source and Free Software.
System administration. I have broad and recent experience from Linux and Solaris, in addition to FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, SGI and HP-UX. In addition I have used Ultrix, OpenVMS and misc. Windows variants since 1995.
Computer communication and networks.
Security

I have given courses in use of Linux and Unix at different levels, and have been responsible for training others in system administration.

Human languages

Norwegian: Fluent (mother tongue).
English: Fluent. Lots of oral and written practice.
German: Medium. Second foreign language for 4 years in secorndary and high school. Some written practice.
Spanish: Some. 5 weeks intensive course in Ecuador summer 1999. Spanish 4 - 6 (intermediate level) 2002 - 2003.
French: Very little. Third foreign language for 2 years in high school
